On October 20, 2023, facilitated by the Department of International Organizations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and the Permanent Mission of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the United Nations, WTO, and other international organizations in Geneva, the Network of trailblazing women leaders - WeLead, in collaboration with the Centre of Vietnamese Quintessential Craft Villages, organized a meeting with Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, and the Vietnamese women entrepreneurs within the WeLead network.
The meeting, held at the Centre of Vietnamese Quintessential Craft Villages (Bat Trang, Gia Lam, Hanoi), left a profound impression on the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva regarding a craft village with a rich tradition and exquisitely crafted products. Confirming to the women entrepreneurs in the WeLead network, Ms. Tatiana Valovaya praised Vietnam's achievements in promoting gender equality, especially impressed by the efforts to facilitate women's participation in the political system and empower women in the economy. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Chairwoman of the trailblaing women leaders network WeLead, also expressed her hope for close attention and connection from the United Nations Office to better support the female entrepreneur community. WeLead is particularly focused on connecting with international organization representatives to enhance the activities of women entrepreneurs with the goal of leading change towards more professional and sustainable equality.
