Launch of SIP100 – Building Inclusive Enterprises 2025: Spreading a Business Mindset for Social Impact

On the morning of June 24, 2025, the launching ceremony of the SIP100 program was held by the Innovation and Incubation Center – Foreign Trade University. This event marked the beginning of the 2025 journey with an atmosphere rich in academic engagement, bringing together numerous innovative enterprises to share insights on the Inclusive Business (IB) model.

During the Peer-to-Peer Learning session, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Minh, Chairwoman of the WeLead Network of Pioneering Women Leaders, delivered an inspiring and insightful speech to the startup community and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She emphasized that inclusive business is not solely about maximizing profits, but also about generating sustainable social impact by integrating low-income individuals into the value chain—as workers, suppliers, distributors, and consumers.

Key Benefits of the Inclusive Business Model:

  • Access to new markets: Low-income groups account for approximately 60% of Vietnam’s population.

  • Leverage of a young, energetic workforce with a strong livelihood drive.

  • Promotion of innovation and the application of advanced science and technology.

  • Easier access to capital from impact investment and ESG-focused funds.

  • Enhanced competitiveness and brand value, aligning with the global trend of responsible consumption.

However, Ms. Minh also pointed out the current challenges, including:

  • Limited awareness and understanding of the inclusive business model;

  • Inadequate capacity for implementation, especially among SMEs;

  • Business concerns about cost and risk;

  • The absence of legal recognition for inclusive businesses in Vietnam, which hinders the development of effective support policies.

Key Policy Recommendation:

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Minh proposed the inclusion of the “inclusive business” concept in the upcoming amendments to the Law on Enterprises, aiming to establish a clear legal framework and vigorously promote the ecosystem of socially impactful enterprises in Vietnam.

The SIP100 kickoff served not only as a platform for professional exchange, but also as a strategic starting point for Vietnamese businesses seeking to pursue sustainable growth while advancing social equity.
