On the morning of September 16, 2026, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Chairwoman of WeLead, participated in a consultation conference on the proposed themes, key issues for discussion, and preparations for the organization of the 2026 Capital Economic Forum (CEF 2026). The conference brought together members of the Senior Expert Council and 16 representatives from organizations and associations operating in Hanoi and was held at the headquarters of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology.
As one of the nine members of the Senior Expert Council of the 2026 Capital Economic Forum, Ms. Minh highly appreciated the initiative of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (HanoiSME) in inviting and bringing together 16 associations across the city to participate in the Forum. She emphasized the importance of establishing a common voice for businesses across different sectors and of varying sizes, thereby ensuring that the Forum reflects a representative and objective perspective from the business community.
Ms. Minh expressed her support for the event being named the Capital Economic Forum, as the name directly associates the Forum with the national capital. To further reflect this identity in English, she proposed adding the letter “V” to the English acronym, making it VCEF. She emphasized that the name “Capital Economic Forum” would elevate the stature of the event, enabling delegates from central-level agencies and other localities to participate not merely as guests, but as stakeholders with a direct interest in the capital's development, contributing ideas and practical recommendations for advancing Hanoi's economy.
Drawing on nearly 42 years of experience working alongside businesses and entrepreneurs, Ms. Minh has, together with her colleagues at the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), organized numerous national, ASEAN, and APEC forums. At the conference, she shared detailed and practical experience in defining the themes for this year's Forum, establishing its long-term mission and objectives, as well as organizing the event itself.
Her recommendations covered various aspects of event organization, including determining the appropriate scale and composition of participants, obtaining the necessary approvals, and developing the Forum's program. She emphasized the importance of having a keynote address to establish a clear assessment of the current position of Hanoi's economy, identify its potential and new growth drivers, and pinpoint existing bottlenecks and challenges. These should then be addressed through a concrete Forum Action Program, featuring specific recommendations and feasible projects. The outcomes of this action program should subsequently be reviewed and assessed at the following Forum.
Ms. Minh proposed three thematic clusters for discussion at the Forum: 1. Capital and Finance, 2. Innovation, Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI), 3. Human Resources.
Ms. Minh expressed her expectation that the Capital Economic Forum would serve as a channel for practical and feasible policy recommendations—a “laboratory” for developing solutions to advance the capital's economy. This vision would be realized through the joint efforts of a facilitating Government, breakthrough-oriented businesses, and an engaged community — working together to elevate the Capital to new heights.
