The 33rd Global Summit of Women, themed "Women: Leading New Trends," was hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai from May 4-6, 2023. The event drew 960 delegates, including politicians, experts, and female entrepreneurs from 70 countries and territories worldwide.
Leading the Vietnamese delegation, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan delivered a compelling speech during the conference's opening session. She highlighted Vietnam's accomplishments in promoting gender equality and emphasized the country's recognition of women's roles. Vo Thi Anh Xuan showcased Vietnam's policies and initiatives that support women's participation across various sectors, such as politics, culture, society, and business, with the aim of enhancing their status and contributing to the country's socio-economic development. Vietnam is committed to continued collaboration with other nations to foster peace and shared prosperity, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey of development. Notably, the Vietnamese delegation stood second in terms of delegate numbers, alongside the United States, following Kazakhstan.
The Vietnamese business delegation, organized by WeLead and comprised of 32 representatives, actively engaged in diverse panel discussions. Key topics that sparked interest among female entrepreneurs included global and regional trends, intergenerational dialogue, rebranding and branding, holistic well-being in the workplace encompassing physical and mental health, digital transformation and the future of work, and effective management for environmental and social objectives. Beyond note-taking, many participants recorded video clips for further study and implementation, setting the Vietnamese business delegation apart.
WeLead was the only business delegation that utilized the opportunity to organize a meaningful side event in collaboration with the Emirates Businesswomen Council. This business networking event took place at the prestigious JW Marriott Hotel, the world's tallest twin hotel and the designated venue for this year's Global Summit of Women. During the session, businesses from both countries showcased investment-seeking projects/products and explored potential partnerships and business opportunities. Vietnamese products such as agricultural produce, coffee, confectionery, ceramics, and silk garnered significant attention and high appreciation from attendees, creating new business prospects for female-led enterprises in Vietnam. On behalf of the Vietnamese Women Entrepreneurs' delegation, WeLead Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh extended a cordial invitation to Farida, Chairwoman of the Emirates Businesswomen Council, and other female business leaders to visit Vietnam and explore collaboration opportunities.
A moment of immense pride for the Vietnamese business delegation came at 10:00 AM on May 3 when Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Chairwoman of WeLead, had the honor of participating in the bell-ringing ceremony at the Dubai Financial Market/NASDAQ.
